don't give up hope...

robin.

I will indulge in your final hours in approximately 8.5 hours.

hold on babe.

Friday, November 27

love kati.

dear black friday shoppers,
you are insane. why do you feel the need to be the earliest of the birds and form an eternal line around kohls at 3:30am? you need your sleep. what is the big advantage of a pair of boots $20 off when you have to wait in line an extra hour? I can tell you. The thrill of the hunt, the feeling of accomplishment when you get the sale before all the other lazy citizens who value their sleep. I thank you for participating in this insane tradition. It would not be the same without you.
love kati, a fellow shopper.

dear those who text me randomly,
You bring me joy. i aspire to be a person who creates a smile on someones face when they see they got a text from me. I greatly appreciate the thought that i have earned through your message.
love kati.

dear uvu boy,
Lets get to know eachother.. yeah. it would be nice if we were friends.
love kati.

dear chelsey,
I miss your presence. come back.
love kati.

dear turkey,
thank you for sacrificing your life for my pleasure. If you had a family back on the farm, I thank them too. thanks momma turkey. But knowing the world today you probably grew up on a breeding farm where you were stuffed with organic preservatives, fattened up and prepared all your life to get eaten in one day. sorry.
love kati.

dear robin,
I thought I was special and would perhaps get a sneak peak in the ending of your story. Turns out I just have to sit through the agonizing suspense. please come quickly. You know, You have taught me so much and made me want to be a better person... and marry a man who shoots bows and arrows. until tomorrow,
love kati.
p.s. it would be nice if archer turned out to be good. just a suggestion.

dear suzie at mi ranchito,
thanks for supplying our party of 18 with delicious mexican food. You handled it well. and gave me delicious strawberry lemonade.
love kati.

dear bandwagon jacob fans,
please stop saying that you want jacobs body. choose one man and stick with him. I am telling you, the entire population of twi-hards would have fought me to the grave, claiming that edward was the ideal man and jacob needed to buzz off. Until Taylor Lautner had to come fulfill the wolf of my dreams. and now guess what has happened? All of civilization decided to flip-flop. I salute all of the loyal Jacob lovers, who were the minority when the book was around. All you bandwagon fans, back off.
love kati.

dear kati,
Stop getting jealous over a fictional character. And find some friends so you don't have to sit at home on a perfectly good friday night. please.
love kati.

giving of thanks.

Thanks...

to the people

-Who sailed on some big ships, landed here, and made peace with the indians. Who made it possible for us americans to skip school, for nothing but a whole day devoted to food. I thank you.

-Who have made me laugh.

- Who sing me country songs, take me to lunch, and get in mud fights with me.

-Who came to the game last night. There were a select few of us student body, so all those who came, i thank you.

-Who are my friends.. without getting my parents monthly payment.

-Who take me to Byu games, teach me how to pok-e battle and how to be a gangster.

-Who have courage. i respect you.

to the things that keep me sane

-photography. you are beginning to become a part of my soul. I like it.

-my planner.

-my family. both immediate and extended. that there is my baby cousin. isn't she a gem? That entire family has the beautiful ocean blue eyes with the perfect spherical head. I guess you could say they got the good genes of the briggs family.
- the hobbies. which include: softball, photography, student council, friends, and now, crotcheting. I am addicted. i find myself staying up until the late hours of the night, staring at the entrancing patterns that the strings create when i weave them together. It is very stress relieving. At times i feel like a grandmother.. But as a result, i have gotten some really cute headbands.

- The book of mormon. which I have almost finished. 2 discs left. Then at last, one of those retreat tickets will be mine.

-fast computers. because right now, mine is moving painfully slow.

thanks. to the day of thanks.

mental stability? trying to keep it.

"calling all people. would you like to buy potatoes? they are big. football size. how about ecomtn water bottles with either a U of U, BYU or PGHS logo? espn subscription? No? how about some $6 pies? softball is fundraising. so, if any of these strike your interest, alert me. please. i will get you taken care of."
sincerely, my facebook status.

Yes. It has come to this. The softball team is trying a new strategy. It may be that we are trying to appeal to every person. Or it may be that we are trying to have such random merchandise to sell that people are so shocked, they buy something. Whatever it may be, I am having a hard time selling all of this random.. stuff. though, i am using most resources possible. I am going insane.

The water bottle is really nice. I am thinking of acquiring one for my own collection.

(shout out:)
congrats, Keegan, on your audition for the winter, school musical: Les Miserables. I yearn for the outcome to be in your favor. Because, this play is definitely one of the favorites. I hope to see you up there mournfully singing about the french revolution. i would enjoy it.

I cannot contain myself. I know it is cliche, But please. I don't care who you are, everyone has a desire for their own Edward Cullen. or... (such as in my case, Jacob Taylor Lautner Black.) whether it is secret or public.

This thursday I am going to go up to Salt Lake, passing cities full of envious girls, making my way to the premiere. practically cheating the system. I will stroll into the theatre hours before others, and watch the long awaited movie. Without the common worry that I am going to fall asleep halfway through. lets just hope it is better than the first.

welcome, spontaneity.

Here are my thoughts as they are: spontaneous.

[pictures?] i'm the classic girl. addicted.

These are long exposures. We took them on thursday. Yes, I did take this, not my mom or even sid. me. (with the help of Sidneys aunt, and a tripod. but, hey. I did it.) We are learning many different styles of photography and I am constantly in awe. Thanks, Tonja.

Real men use swords.

the weekend started with this friday, I whispered to myself (yes, to myself. In the halls of the high school even.) "today is going to be a good day." Just moments later I heard the classic group of teenagers chatting about the date. Friday the thirteenth. now I had to try extra hard.

ends up.. I was right.

she is mine. all mine.

meet: hunger.

No. Life for me just never slows down. I never get a break from the endless responsibility. Though, I like it that way. (As you can see, no sane person who wants a social life would sign up for student council.) But sometimes the river of life eases just a bit, the current never stops.. but it does slow. I like to take advantage of these times to throw in a couple of good books. As I have said before I am an avid reader. I love the adventure of living someone elses dream life. Secretly hoping that one day I will have a fairy tale (or even average) story line.

My latest exploit, probably does not come as a surprise to most. The Hunger Games. The latest sensation around Pleasant Grove Highs campus. I just had to fall into line with everyone else and try out this new novel; see if it was as great as I had heard. I love it. it only came out last fall, only to find it is a teen hit and will soon be made into a movie. I have borrowed it from a friend and I am desperate to get my hands on the second book.

here is a quick summary I have found on line:

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic America that has been divided into 12 districts and is run by the Capitol. Each year the Capitol holds a survival game called the Hunger Games. Each of the 12 districts must choose a teenage boy and girl to fight to the death - and there can be only one winner.

Of course a summary cannot show the intricate detail in this thrilling tale. But I highly encourage this read for anyone who wants a book to engulf themselves in.

enjoy.
